New Vauxhall Meriva

These are the first
official pictures of Vauxhall's new Meriva,
which is set to turn the conventional
concept of family-car usability on its head
with a combination of clever, rear-hinged
back doors which radically improve
access/egress, and a raft of unique cabin
features that boost interior versatility.
The new Meriva, which
will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in
March next year, is the first Vauxhall to
feature FlexDoors, showcased on last year's
Meriva design concept.
FlexDoors are rear-hinged back doors which
swing open towards the back of the car at an
angle of nearly 90 degrees, vastly improving
the ease with which occupants enter and
leave the cabin. Rather than having to step
back, or to one side, as one would using a
normal front-hinged door, the FlexDoor
allows unimpeded forward access/egress to
and from the cabin, enhanced further by the
Meriva's exceptionally high roof line.

exciting things to offer.

it’s bold exterior styling – a look that is designed to appeal to young and
mature drivers alike.
The head-turning design will be complimented by outstanding
passenger space, entertaining driving characteristics and, of course,
Chevrolet’s tradition for providing extraordinary value for money.
The Spark really will change your expectations of what a city
car should be.

Frosts Worthing have closed

Frosts have closed their Ferring Vauxhall site leaving
Steeles as the only franchised Vauxhall garage in the Worthing area.
Luckily their customers should not be affected by the closure as they can take
their cars to Steeles for any warranty work or Vauxhall approved servicing.
Steeles already operate a free collection & delivery service to Ferring as well
as running a fleet of courtesy cars and a while-you-wait service.
Fleet & company car owners need not be concerned either as Steeles are already
approved by most of the major fleet companies.

Electrifying looks - The new Ampera

General Motors launched the revolutionary Ampera at the Geneva Motor Show in
March 2009.
A right-hand drive Vauxhall model will go into production in 2012.
The Ampera is an electric car with with the wheels turned electrically at all
times and speeds. For journey up to around 40-miles it runs on electricity
stored in the battery and emits zero CO2. When the battery is depleted the
onboard engine-generator extends the range to more than 300 miles.
The Ampera can be plugged into any household 240 volt socket for charging.

Caffyns Vauxhall have closed

Caffyns have closed their Preston Road Brighton
Vauxhall site. This is obviously very sad for their
staff and we hope that the ones who are being made redundant find new jobs very
soon.
It is also a problem for their service and parts customers who no longer have a
Vauxhall dealer in Brighton. Hopefully a new dealer will be appointed soon but,
in the meantime, Steeles will be happy to extend their 'while-you-wait' service
(for both servicing and warranty) to Caffyns customers.
Steeles already offer a trade parts delivery service to parts of Brighton and
they will be happy to discuss extending that service for ex-Caffyns trade
customers.

sophistication and luxury – a perfect fusion of design and technology for
drivers who set their standards a cut above. From its innovative engine offering
to its distinctive style and rich equipment, everything about the Epica conveys
ease and elegance. A solid build, a dynamic drive, and thorough attention to
detail make it both a state-of-the-art machine and a vehicle of personal
expression. The Epica is a superbly equipped car matched to a ride of sublime
quality. From £13,595.

New Vauxhall Agila

The long awaited replacement for the Vauxhall Agila is to due to be launched in
April 2008. The new Agila is very different to the outgoing model with a modern,
striking exterior and interior.
The compact but flexible newcomer benefits from tax-busting CO2 figures of just
120g/km on both the entry-level petrol and diesel engines, meaning it will fall
into Road Tax Band B – the cost of a tax disc being just £35 a year!
Adding to its affordability, Agila will cost from only £7,595 when it arrives.
Three trim levels will be on offer, all with impressive levels of standard
equipment, plus the added advantage of the car’s incredibly versatile interior
layout.
Small enough to be manoeuvrable into tight parking spaces, but with five doors
and five full-size seats with three-point belts as standard, Agila benefits from
enough luggage space to rival cars in the class above, providing plenty of room
for the busiest of lifestyles.
The clever design allows for plenty of storage space inside and the tall
roofline provides an airy, spacious feel. It also allows a high seating
position, making it easy to get in and out of the Agila and ensure good
visibility even in heavy urban traffic.
To complement the dynamic looks and all-new chassis, the Agila will offer three
new engines and an automatic gearbox will be available for the first time.
Petrol units include a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit developing 65PS and an 85PS
1.2, the latter of which will be available with optional automatic transmission.
Vauxhall’s award-winning 1.3CDTi diesel will also be on offer, delivering
excellent performance from its 75PS while sipping fuel.

New Chevrolet Aveo

There will be a new addition to the Chevrolet range in Spring. The new Aveo which replaces the Chevrolet Kalos. The most significant features of this
completely reworked model are its striking exterior, its high-class interior and
a new, even more efficient petrol engine.
The Aveo hatchback sports Chevrolet’s new design features, as characterised by
the big horizontally split radiator grille with a body-coloured crossbeam and
the brand logo sitting prominently in the centre. The dynamic detailing includes
large, curved, clear-glass headlamps and fog lamps that project like spotlights
from the lower part of the bumper. In profile, the body’s prominent shoulder
lines catch the eye, while the back of the car is dominated by the solid bumper
and the round tail lamps in a clear-glass housing.
There is a choice of two petrol engines: a new 1.2-litre unit with an output of
84 hp, and the existing 1.4-litre engine, which now develops 98 hp and is
available with automatic transmission.

Corsa C model recall - ABS control unit replacement

Vauxhall have recalled 355,000 Corsas to replace the ABS
brakes control unit. This recall is in addition to any previous ABS recall work.
The recall affects 2004-2006 Corsa models and 2004-2008 Combo van & Tigra
models. The new Corsa introduced in 2006 is not affected.
In theory all owners of affected cars will receive letters
from Vauxhall but owners who have any concerns about their car or the recall
plans can call Vauxhall Customer Services on 0845 090 2044 or email them at
vauxhall.customer.assistance@uk.gm.com
Additionally, Corsa & Combo drivers who live in the
Worthing, Brighton, Littlehampton or Pulborough areas can call Steeles ON 01903
237527 and ask
them to check if their car is included in this or any other recall. This is
especially relevant if they have just bought the car or if the car is not
registered in the driver's name.
If recall work is required, Steeles can do this
free-of-charge, often while-you-wait. It does not matter who supplied the
vehicle or if it is a private, company, fleet or Motability vehicle.

These are at competitive prices as we have teamed up with a Chevrolet franchised
new car retailer who holds a large stock of new & nearly-new cars at very good
prices. These start at only £5,555 for a brand new Matiz on-the-road! Please
contact us for further details.

Motability

Motability have confirmed their official approval of
Steeles for servicing & repair on Vauxhalls and Chevrolets. They have also
confirmed that all Vauxhall & Chevrolet customers can bring their car to Steeles
for servicing or repair, regardless of supplier. Supplying dealers sometimes
tell people that the car has to return to them for servicing but this is not the
case. All Motability customers have to do is book their car direct with Steeles
or tell Motability that they would like Steeles to do the work.
July 2007
Vacuum

We now have a vacuum cleaner at Goring Way. A lot of Car
Wash customers vacuum their cars before washing them so this is a welcome
addition to the forecourt.
July 2007
New Car Wash

Our Goring Way forecourt now has a Car Wash. The new Car Wash
is a high-specification modern machine capable of the highest standard of
vehicle washing & drying. Specification includes a water recycling unit, a high-pressure wash system, an
under-chassis wash, uprated wheel cleaning units and the latest brush
materials.
The main consideration when specifying the
machine was that it had to clean cars to the highest possible standard without
the risk of damage to paintwork, door mirrors and other parts that old-fashioned
Car Washes using traditional nylon brushes are normally associated with.
It uses recycled water and is enclosed in a sound proof
building. These are both to keep the impact on the environment as low a
possible.
